Makers Mark Private Select
Jonathan Maisano spent the afternoon at the Maker's Mark Distillery in January tasting through 5 different Bourbons, each finished in a barrel made with one of the below stave types. He then combined the whiskies to achieve a unique flavor profile, once the right balance was achieved a used Maker's Mark barrel was deconstructed, Jonathan then lowered in the following ten staves; 1 Sp Toasted French Spice, which is cooked in a convection oven over a long period of time, 1 P2 Baked American Pure 2, American oak that's convection-cooked on low heat for a long time, 2 Maker's 46 seared French oak staves, 3 Cu a French oak stave that's seared on high heat over a short period of time, 3 Mo Roasted French Mocha, which is treated with a short burst of extreme heat. The barrel was then reassembled and filled with fully matured Maker's Mark at cask strength and aged 9 additional weeks in Maker's limestone cellar to extract more flavor. The 10 finishing staves can be any combination of five flavor profiles chosen especially for this program. With 1,001 possible stave combinations we hope you enjoy this custom crafted Bourbon created by Jonathan Maisano for all of his customers Maisano's Fine Wine and Spirits to enjoy.
